Alumni Gang rapper Vee Tha Rula drops off the smooth new song "Rep For."

It’s not everyday we get a new music from rising Phoenix rapper Vee Tha Rula, but when we do it’s usually worth the wait. The last time the Alumni Gang rapper impacted our site was last month with the release of his slept-on single “Nobody,” and today he’s back with another one. As apart of “Rula Tuesdays,” which we hope is a new weekly release series, the Alumni Gang rapper decides to come through and liberate a new song on his soundcloud page called “Rep For.”

Going in over some airy guitar-driven production from King Colativo, the Phoenix rapper shows off his versatility and range with this one, crooning about “puttin on for his rep” as the title depicts. “All my niggas wants good dank, all my niggas want is good drank/ Put that on the set that I rep for/ put that on the set that I rep for,” he sings on the hook. But don't get twisted, smooth vocals isn’t all that is heard here as Vee still provides some effortless bars & slick wordplay, rapping about his come up in the game & time drug dealing in the streets, among other things. “I was just a little nigga tryna pass my conscious/ Selling tickets $20 dollars with a pocket full of a powder (hold up)/ Been at the bottom my partner Im far from judging/ Im just hoping when you’re down that these words will reach up & hug ya,” he spits.

It’s unclear at the moment if this will see life on any upcoming project or if it’s just something to hold us over in the meantime, but regardless we’re all for it.

Take a listen and let us know what you think. If you’re a fan, be sure to show your support on iTunes.

Quotable Lyrics:

The streets will never love ya my mama say as I walk away
Kept that in the back of my thoughts
Ive been on the block all day
