Shannon Sharpe was ready to talk about LeBron this morning.

Shannon Sharpe has been one of LeBron James' biggest supporters over the last few years. Whenever he goes on Undisputed, he is defending James' honor against Skip Bayless. Overall, Sharpe and LeBron have developed into great friends, and they continue to support one another. This has been especially true over the last few months. Mostly, this is because of the fact that LeBron has been chasing the NBA's all-time scoring record. Although this record has been held for 39 years, James was on the verge of breaking it last night.

Subsequently, Shannon made sure to attend the Lakers' match against the Oklahoma City Thunder last night. Going into this game, LeBron was 36 points away from the record. Most people felt as though he would break the record on Thursday. However, James clearly had other plans as he shattered the record by the end of the third quarter. Overall, it was a truly incredible accomplishment that was celebrated by everyone on the floor. For LeBron and everyone in attendance, this was an incredibly emotional moment that will never be forgotten.

Shannon Sharpe Speaks

During today's episode of Undisputed, Shannon Sharpe was able to give his entire reaction to LeBron's record. In the clip above, Sharpe went in-depth on why this is so impressive. Firstly, Sharpe noted that it is LeBron's longevity that will never be matched. Secondly, Sharpe believes that LeBron has yet to fall off from his game. Although he may not be getting better, he certainly isn't getting any worse. Additionally, Sharpe explained how averaging 27 points per game over a 20-year career is something that ought to be celebrated for years to come.

On the flip side of this, his broadcast partner Skip Bayless isn't going to be crowning LeBron as the GOAT anytime soon. However, Bayless did note that this record is the ultimate testament to LeBron's longevity. What James has been able to do is impressive, and even though Skip is a hater, he can't deny what LeBron has done here. Hopefully, James can eventually get to 40,000 points and beyond before his career is over.
