SZA says that her experience at the 2023 Grammys was her first "great time" at an award show.

SZA says that her trip to the 2023 Grammy Awards was her first "great time" at an awards show. The "Kill Bill" singer explained that this was likely due to the fact that she wasn't competing for anything. In the past, the Recording Academy nominated her 2017 debut, Ctrl, for four awards, while also putting her up individually for Best New Artist.

"Last night was the first time I had a great time at an award show!" SZA captioned a photo of herself from the event. "(Prolly cause I ain’t have to do shit but cheer my friends on + announce ppl I Stan lmao ) my team also surprised me w a GANG OF PLATINUM and gold plaques for SOS can’t believe the album is already eligible for double platinum. LOVE TO EVERYBODY THAT GOT ME HERE AND CONTINUES TO LIFT ME UP. I love you."

Several other artists commented on SZA's post, including Chloe Bailey, who wrote: "you’re so damn beautiful proud of you my love." Ice Spice and La La Anthony also chimed in with emojis.

While SZA had nothing to worry about on Sunday night, the same likely won't be said for next year. Her latest album, SOS, released back on December 9, 2022, missing the window for the 2023 Grammys. However, its reached historic levels of success on the Billboard 200. The album recently spent its seventh week at No. 1, a feat SZA celebrated on Instagram. “7 weeks at #1 is more than I ever imagined,” she captioned the post. “I’m jus tryna do something worth something w my time in the sun. Thank you God. Thank you everyone.” SZA is now just the third female artist since 2000 to have an album spend seven weeks at the No. 1 position on the Billboard 200. The other two artists are Adele and Taylor Swift. SOS is also the first album in history to keep 10 songs on the Hot 100 singles chart for seven consecutive weeks.
