Washington Redskins defensive end Ricky Jean Francois will be lacing up custom Nike cleats tonight in honor of the late Craig Sager, just as some other NFL players such as Golden Tate did on Sunday.
Jean Francois says the cleats are not only a way to pay tribute to the legendary sideline reporter who influenced his style, but also his way of raising awareness for cancer research.
“The sports world lost a legend when Craig Sager passed away last week,” said Jean Francois. “He inspired me and so many others with his flashy fashion sense, personality and strength. These cleats are my gesture of appreciation in honor or his memory, but also a way of continuing to raise awareness for the fight against cancer.”
These vibrantly decorated cleats will be hard to miss tonight as the 7-5-1 Redskins look to keep their playoff hopes alive against the lowly Carolina Panthers.
