Toronto's Soundman makes his Heatseekers return with "Soon Touch."

Soundman is back as a Heatseeker for the second time, following February's "Lane Switch." "Soon Touch," released last month, is his latest single, and it finds him exercising a blend of singing and rapping over a chilly, mysterious production. As was the case with "Lane Switch," there's a rasp in his voice that evokes the more frenzied flows of Kendrick Lamar. "Soon Touch" is consistent with the trending sounds in Soundman's hometown of Toronto, and the song is based on experiences he's had driving in the harsh winter weather to see his girl, who lives outside of the city. "It's also a metaphor for reaching whatever goals you have planned for yourself," he says.

The "Soon Touch" production and guitar work comes from Amsterdam-based producer Ken0b1, and it was mastered by Dominic Okune.

Why my girl took me out to see them hills
