Listen to D'Angelo's stunning rendition of Prince's "Venus de Milo."

Many rappers paid tribute to the late legend Prince via social media. D'Angelo paid tribute as only he could: an intimate Wurlitzer cover of Prince's "Venus de Milo."

D'Angelo's interpretation is tender, spirited, contemplative, and possibly even more stunning than the Prince original. His decision to leave vocals off the tribute recalls John Mayer's stirring cover of Michael Jackson's "Human Nature" at the MJ memorial concert.

"Venus de Milo" originally appeared on Prince's 1986 album Under The Cherry Moon. According to Mervin Sealy, D'Angelo recorded his rendition of "Venus de Milo" on a lark during a studio session. Sealy shared it on YouTube with D'Angelos' permission.

Enjoy the magnificence.
