Tunji Ige's The Love Project, which was released late last year, was dope but slept-on enough to warrant placement in our recent list of underrated tapes from 2014. Today, he shares a chopped and screwed version of one of the album's many highlights, "Ball Is Life."
Transforming the formerly bouncy track into a syrupy slow crawler, Tunji clearly picked the right track to give the Houston treatment to, as his production is only emphasized by the slower tempo. Not only is this "screwed" (slowed down), it's also "chopped" in that Ige also adds some nifty loops and abrupt chops to keep things interesting.
