This weekend, Lil Uzi Vert announced that his next mixtape would be a collaborative project with Gucci Mane, one of his foremost inspirations, whom he had never gotten a chance to work with until recently. Of course, Uzi was just 19 -- and nowhere to be seen in the rap game -- when Gucci was sent away to prison, where he stayed for about three years, getting back out at the end of May. The Philly turn-up kid and the Trap God have now recorded a whole bunch of work together, and they're ready to share it all via 1017 vs The World. This evening, Uzi shared the first snippet off the project.
Uzi filmed himself turning up to a new 1017 vs The World cut in the car, and one can only hear him rapping for most of the song, though the ad-libs of La Flare come in toward the end of the snippet. How's it sounding, y'all?
Gucci is coming in hot off the releases of Woptober and Free Bricks 2: Zone 6 Edition, a joint tape with Future. Uzi's last release came at the end of July with The Perfect Luv Tape. A few months before that, he released Lil Uzi Vert vs The World, which contained hits like "Money Longer," "You Was Right," and "Canadian Goose."
