Vic Mensa surprised everyone when he signed up to tour with Disclosure last year, but the rapper has been moving in a more UK dance-oriented sound with recent releases.
His latest cut, "Down On My Luck" is his most electronic-infused track yet, with the majority of the song being sung rather than rapped, and featuring production from Stefan Ponce, who also contributed the Juke-influenced instrumental for Chance The Rapper's "Good Ass Intro".
No word on when to expect Mensa's next project, but with the new single dropping it seems like we'll be seeing something relatively soon, so stay tuned.
Quotable Lyrics:
When I get down on my luck
I roll one up, and roll around
All by my lonesome
Lost some years, I used to know
I know my fate like bullets in the shotgun
