North Carolina Governor, Pat McCrory declared a State of Emergency in Charlotte last night and called in the National Guard as more riots broke out in the wake of the Keith Scott killing

According to reports, what began as a march throughout Uptown Charlotte around 7:30pm turned into a full-blown 600-person riot when one civilian was critically wounded by a gun shot. Although, reports suggest it was not a police officer who fired the shot.

As shown in the chaotic footage, some protesters started lighting fires, vandalizing vehicles and property, and looting stores, including the Charlotte Hornets team store. Some reporters were even attacked during the events as police officers in riot gear used tear gas to combat the mayhem that unfolded throughout the night.

A few businesses like Wells Fargo and Bank Of America urged non-essential employees not to report to work today in the aftermath of the riots.

"Due to the State of Emergency in Charlotte, Wells Fargo team members are not required to report to work in Uptown today. Team members are being asked to work from home or work from alternate locations if they are able. Team members unable to find alternate arrangements are not required to take PTO today."

Furthermore, ESPN is reporting that Carolina Panthers officials are planning to meet this morning to discuss security issues for Sunday's home game against the Vikings. Officials are concerned with whether or not there will be enough police officers to keep the city in order and also keep the stadium secure. More protests are reportedly anticipated on Sunday.

The wife of Keith Scott released a statement encouraging protesters to do so peacefully and urging them not to harm police officers, damage property, or loot stores in the name of her husband.
