With his new album Quality Street Music 2 out now, DJ Drama hit up New York and visited The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy and Angela Yee.
DJ Drama speaks on no longer putting his focus on hosting mixtapes, and he speaks on why that 'job' is on the decline, as well as the changing landscape of the mixtape game as a whole. He goes on to discuss owning a studio in Atlanta, Mean Street Studios, and working with fellow Philly native Lil Uzi Vert. He explains how he found Uzi (through Don Cannon) and talks about Uzi's quick come-up.
Envy attempts to broach the whole Drake/Meek Mill ghostwriting beef and reference track debacle, although we're pretty much over this story by now as Drama attests too. He does say he's good with Dreamchasers' camp, however he hasn't spoken to Drake or the OVO camp.
