Justin Bieber performed three of his biggest "Purpose" hits to close out the 2015 AMAs.

Justin Bieber performed three consecutive hits off his new album, Purpose, to cap off this year's American Music Awards. Bieber's three-song finale came after performances by The Weeknd, who performed "The Hills," Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Gwen Stefani, Nick Jonas, and more.

Bieber began with an acoustic rendition of "What Do You Mean," before segueing into "Where Are Ü Now," his February track with Diplo and Skrillex that, earlier in the night, took home the award for collaboration of the year. The final song, "Sorry," had to be the highlight, as Bieber suddenly found himself caught in a heavy rainstorm.

Was Bieber the right candidate to close out the ceremony?
