Jon Jones will return to the octagon at UFC 214 this Saturday in Anaheim, California to challenge the UFC Light Heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier.
That said, it looks like he is already planting the seed for another high-profile bout against the currently suspended Brock Lesnar.
In a live facebook chat, Jones was asked by a fan about a potential dream matchup against Lesnar.
“I would love to fight Brock Lesnar,” Jones said in the Facebook chat when asked by a fan. “He’s a massive dude, it would be a massive draw. Really big for the sport. It would be a great challenge. That’s a big, old boy. I doubt Brock Lesnar would take that fight, though.”
"I definitely wouldn’t try to wrestle with him the whole time. I’m not going to tell you what I would do.”
And Lesnar wasted no time in responding. According to the AP, the current WWE Universal Champion responded by saying,
“Would I fight Jon Jones? Anytime, anywhere,” Lesnar said. “Right now he should be worried about D.C. on Saturday night.”
Lesnar, who hasn't fought in the UFC since his win over Mark Hunt at UFC 200, still has not reentered the USADA drug-testing pool, and even when he does he'll have to serve the remaining six month suspension stemming from his USADA-issued suspension.
Rumors in pro wrestling circles suggest Lesnar will ultimately go back to the UFC once his current WWE contract expires, and if that's the case we could be looking at Lesnar vs Jones.
