UFC President Dana White remains confident that Brock Lesnar will be back in the octagon before long, and there's reason to believe his first fight back with the UFC could come against Jon Jones. According to TMZ Sports, White recently revealed that there is mutual interest from both fighters.
"Jon Jones is very interested in Brock Lesnar and Brock is very interested in Jon Jones," White tells TMZ Sports.
Of course, Lesnar still holds the WWE Universal Championship and he's under contract with the WWE at least until the annual SummerSlam pay-per-view in August. Additionally, Brock has yet to enter the USADA's six-month drug-testing pool, which is a requirement before he'll be eligible to get back in the cage. Not to mention, Jones is also currently suspended for failing a drug test.
Per TMZ Sports:
"The suspension is provisional until USADA makes an official ruling -- and it seems that could happen pretty soon."
"I'll end up figuring that out in the next month," White says ... "I don't know how that's gonna play out. That's up to USADA."
Rumors suggest Lesnar will drop the WWE Universal title at SummerSlam, paving the way for his much anticipated return to the UFC. The 41-year old behemoth has not fought in the UFC since July 2016, when his unanimous decision win over Mark Hunt was overturned to a “No Contest” after he failed a pair of drug tests.
