Russell Simmons Defends Jay-Z's Supposed Anti-Semitic Lyrics

Jay-Z has had another person come to the defense of his supposedly anti-semitic lyrics on his new track "The Story of O.J."

After Israeli-American talent manager Guy Oseary recently said some people took the lyrics out of context, Russell Simmons has now echoed Oseary’s statement. He stated that Hov’s lyrics about business savvy Jews should be seen as a "guiding light to the black and specifically the hip-hop community."

Interestingly, Buzzfeed has pointed out that both Simmons and Jay-Z previously collaborated on a PSA that was against - you guessed it - anti-semitism. "Don't be silent, remember: We are one, one voice," Jay Z said at the end of the video. I wonder how much those words are resonating now, and if perhaps for a negative reason.
