The Brooklyn Nets officially introduced D'Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov at a press conference this afternoon in Brooklyn, but D'Angelo got an early "welcome" to BK during yesterday's Big3 League season opener at the Barclays Center.
The former Lakers point guard was one of many celebrities on hand for the official start to the Big3 season, but fans in attendance weren't as happy as you'd expect them to be for the Nets' new point guard.
According to Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post, D'Angelo Russell received "lots of boos" upon being introduced for the first time at Barclays Center.
There's no telling exactly how much of the crowd in Brooklyn was made up of Nets fans, but it already looks like the D'Angelo Russell era is off to a rough start in BK. If the 21-year old point guard can realize some of that #2 overall pick potential, we're sure the ruthless fans will come around.
