The Golden State Warriors secured their second NBA title in the last three years with last night's Game 5 victory over the Cavs. Kevin Durant, who scored a team-high 39 points in the series clinching win, was named NBA Finals MVP after the game - and Nike was more than prepared to celebrate his first championship ring.
Immediately following the conclusion of Game 5, Nike debuted their "Debate This" ad starring Kevin Durant and all of his haters.
Per Nike,
"Nike’s “Debate This” ad campaign celebrates Kevin Durant’s first NBA Championship in the face of harsh criticism he’s confronted from his college days throughout his 10-year NBA career. With an NBA Finals MVP trophy to boot there’s no debating that he’s now a champion. Durant debuted his Nike KD X signature shoe on court during the Western Conference Championship and wore the blue colorway during Game 4 to close out the season."
In addition to the new KD spot, Nike has also launched their "Premium Cork Collection" via NikeiD, which features an AF1 mid, low and high.
The NIKEiD Premium Cork Collection celebrates the festivities that accompany a championship with an AF1 Low adorned with metallic gold detailing and for the first time ever: a premium black cork upper.
