HBO has a film in the works focusing on the Jerry Sandusky scandal at Penn State University and Al Pacino has reportedly agreed to play the role of the Nittany Lions' longtime football coach, Joe Paterno.
According to Variety, Barry Levinson, who won the Academy Award for "Rain Man," will serve as the director and executive producer.
The official tagline for the film reads: “After becoming the winningest coach in college football history, Joe Paterno is embroiled in Penn State’s Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal, challenging his legacy and forcing him to face questions of institutional failure on behalf of the victims.”
As of now, no other stars have been linked to the HBO film, which still does not have a release date or title.
