Is an Outkast movie in the works?

With Boomiverse set to drop on June 16th, Big Boi has been busy doing the promotional circuit. While Daddy Fat Saxx was last seen devouring some friend chicken with Run The Jewels and the elusive Andre 3000, Big Boi chopped it up with HipHopDx for an in-depth interview. While conversation centered around the upcoming album, Big Boi all-but-confirmed an upcoming Outkast biopic:

"Me and [Andre 3000] just spoke about it last week when I was in New York. I think he might have been taking a couple meetings talking to people and then I got a couple of people in mind that I’ma talk to, one of them being Lee Daniels who I just did the TV show Star with so yeah all that’s coming and we just know it’s time to do it. It’s coming!"

When asked who he would like to play him, Big Boi said he might have to pull an Ice Cube and enlist one of his sons. "They look exactly like me and they know all the words to all the raps so they probably could pull it off."

Stay tuned for Boomiverse, which is sure to be an amazing album. Big Boi's solo work is pretty underrated (Sir Luscious Left Foot is a classic), and he has words for anyone who might be sleeping on his name: "If you don’t have Andre 3000 and Big Boi in your top 3, ball your list up and swallow it."

What do you think about a potential Outkast movie? And who are your casting choices for the iconic duo?
