The OutKast rumors have been all over the map this past year. It seems as though every other week we get confirmation or denial of a new OutKast album, a solo album from Andre 3000, or whatever it may be.
The last rumors we heard cited that OutKast were working on a new album in the legendary Stankonia studios, in addition it was reported that both Big Boi and Three Stacks had solo albums in the works. This was all according to Mr. DJ, a producer for OutKast and long-time affiliate.
Once again though, the new OutKast album rumors have been knocked down. While speaking to Revolt TV, Big Boi adamantly denied any album in the works from the duo. "No, no, no," Sir Luscious Left Foot responded to the likelihood of a new album. "We're just doing the tour only, just for the fans. That's all it is, just the tour."
In case that wasn't clear enough, he said a second time, "It's just the Outkast 20th year anniversary, just a way for us to celebrate with our fans, but there's no album in the works, no."
Nonetheless, we can expect new music from Big Boi. The rapper revealed he's a big fan of the TV show "Game Of Thrones" and he'll even be dropping a new mixtape in the coming weeks, inspired by the show. Both Common and Wale are set to appear on the project.
"I think it'll be out in the next couple of weeks," Daddy Fat Stax revealed. "We got Common, Wale doing something, and I'm doing a track as well on there. And a couple surprise guests."
Big Boi confirmed he was working on a new album a few weeks back, so we're unsure if this is the project to which Big Boi was referring, or if this is a mixtape will prelude the album. We'll keep you posted.
OutKast were announced yesterday as headliners for Drake's OVO Fest, adding another date to their festival run.
