Nothing Donald Trump does or says should come much of shock anymore as his antics have become a daily occurrence, but what he did (or should I say didn't do) on Sunday was definitely another head shaker. During the White House’s annual White House Easter Egg Roll, President Donald Trump appeared to have needed a reminder & nudge from First Lady Melania Trump to raise his hand over his heart during the National Anthem.
In the clip that surfaced online Monday, Melania and their 11-year old son Barron can be seen quickly putting their hands over their hearts when the “Star-Spangled Banner” begins to play. However, Trump doesn’t do that right away, and Melania quickly nudges her husband’s right hand to remind him to put his hand over his heart, which he then does.
According to the U.S. law, when the “Star Spangled Banner” is being performed, those in the military should give a salute, while others should “face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart, and men not in uniform, if applicable, should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart.”
Watch Melania give Donald the “nudge” in the clip (below) and be sure to sound off in the comments.
