If you were wondering why WWE Superstar Kane hasn't been choke slamming opponents in the ring lately, it's because he's running for mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.
The Big Red Republican Machine, government name Glenn Jacobs, reportedly filed paperwork earlier this month officially starting his mayoral campagin, although the election won't be taking place until May of 2018.
The 7-foot demon explained why he decided to run for mayor, per WBIR.com's Mike Donila,
"I think the most important thing is I care very deeply about this community, like a lot of people do. And that's the only reason I would consider getting into any sort of government because I do care very deeply."
Kane, 49, has been absent from the WWE for roughly the last six months but he was very active in the company throughout most of 2016 under the name "Corporate Kane."
