Jay Z and The Weinstein Company have announced plans to produce a six-part docu-series and feature film on Trayvon Martin after securing the rights two two books about his 2012 death and the ensuing trial, Variety reports.
The docu-series and film will draw on Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice, a 2014 book by NBC News analyst Lisa Bloom that examines the "six biggest mistakes" made by the state of Florida, and Why We Continue to Repeat It and Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin, a book Martin's parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin.
Hov is wheeling and dealing under the terms of the exclusive producing partnership he announced with Harvey Weinstein last September. Their six-part docu-series TIME: The Kalief Browder Story debuted on Spike earlier this month.
