VIEWS has achieved its 11th week at No. 1. Upon its release at the end of April, Drake's latest album held the top spot for nine consecutive weeks. Earlier this month, it was finally dethroned by Blink-182's California, but it has now been back at No. 1 for two straight weeks.
For the week ending July 21, VIEWS sold 89,000 equivalent album units, which is down three percent from last week, reports Billboard. VIEWS is the first album to attain 11 weeks at No. 1 since Taylor Swift's 2014 album 1989, which spent its 11th and final week atop the chart during the week of February 21, 2015. The most recent album to spend more than 11 weeks at No. 1 is the Frozen soundtrack, which experienced 14 chart-topping weeks in 2014. VIEWS is reportedly one of eight albums to hold the 1 spot for 11 weeks in the last 20 years.
As usual, the majority (64%) of VIEWS' latest sales figures are attributed to streaming. In pure album sales, VIEWS actually fell short of the 46,000 pulled in by NeedToBreathe's new album, HardLove, which will make its debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
