A weekly look at the performance of hip-hop and r'n'b albums.

While Drake's VIEWS remains unmoved from the #1 spot (sorry YG), there were still a few switch-ups this week with hip hop albums on the Billboard 200. YG made his debut with Still Brazy at #6, a precocious new LP from the California gangster rapper. Fellow Cali native and mainstay, The Game, debuted at #25 with his soundtrack "Streets of Compton," which coincides with an A&E documentary of the same name. Elsewhere, Chance The Rapper makes strides, moving up 40 spots, from #63 to #23. Take a look at the details below.

...

1) Drake - VIEWS: For the eighth week in a row, Drake's fourth studio album claims the #1 spot. This week, the Red Hot Chili Peppers came out strong with a new album The Getaway, and while they were close to obtaining #1, they ultimately entered the chart at #2. Aubrey was able to hold them off by moving another 124,019 TAEU (total album equivalent units) and 33,290 in pure sales.

2) Beyonce - LEMONADE: Right behind the Chili Peppers is Beyonce, whose most recent record LEMONADE has been bouncing around the top of the charts since its release nine weeks ago. Last week she was at #4, and this week she's right back up in the very familiar spot of #3. She sold 49,114 TAEU and 33,168 in physical copies along the way.

3) YG - Still Brazy: YG's newest album has received ample praise, however, its Billboard debut is not quite as strong as YG's first album, My Krazy Life, which entered the Billboard 200 at #2 upon its release in March 2014, and moved around 61,000 copies opening week. Nonetheless YG manages a #6 debut with his sophomore effort, after moving 38,286 TAEU and 27,676 copies in pure sales opening week.

4) Rihanna - ANTI: Rihanna's eighth studio album ANTI continues to show up strong, spending its 22nd week on the charts at #7 after last week's stay at #6. This time around, the record clocks 37,467 TAEU and 8,522 in pure sales.

5) Kevin Gates - ISLAH: Kevin Gates' ISLAH was nothing short of a breakthrough success, peaking at #2 and continuing to place in the top 20 spots on the Billboard 200. With 19,537 TAEU and 6,546 sales tallied this week, the album isn't showing too many signs of slowing down despite a six-spot drop from last week's stint at #13.

6) Chance The Rapper - Coloring Book: Chance The Rapper is one of hip hop's most beloved new acts, and the success of Coloring Book is showing us just how strong his fanbase is. With 17,877 TAEU, the free release continues to be streamed all over the world, enough to help the Chicago talent place at #23 on the chart. Let's note that the album spent last week at #63, marking a whopping forty-spot jump for Chance.

7) The Game - Streets of Compton: At #25 is The Game with his newest release Streets of Compton. The album's debut week earned the prolific rapper 17,519 TAEU and 14,737 in pure sales. Not bad for a soundtrack.

8) Bryson Tiller - Trapsoul: Bryson Tiller remains at the same #27 spot he was in last week. The Louisville star's Trapsoul album, which dropped in 2015 but has remained a force in 2016, clocks an additional 16,668 TAEU and 3,139 in pure sales to its breakthrough success.

9) Prince - Very Best of Prince: Prince's Very Best of Prince anthology continues to place well on the Billboard charts after a huge surge in sales and streams following his tragic passing. With 14,911 TAEU and 11,271 sales, the record places at #30 this week.

10) The Weeknd - Beauty Behind the Madness: If Abel Tesfaye wasn't already a household commodity, his sophomore album ensured his voice hit the ears of just about everyone, everywhere with smash singles like "The Hills" and "I Can't Feel My Face." Down to #36 after surfacing at #31 last week, the album does 13,902 TAEU and 3,329 in pure sales this time around.

...

The Hot 100's top four spots look the same this week as last week: "Once Dance" at #1, Justin Timberlake at #2, "Panda" at #3, and The Chainsmokers at #4. At #5 is Rihanna with Calvin Harris for their collaborative track "This Is What You Came For," which has been steadily climbing throughout its eight weeks on the charts. Fifth Harmony and Fetty Wap debut at #78 with their song "All In My Head (Flex)," while YG and Drake debut at #92 with "Why You Always Hatin?" Drake and Rihanna continue to dominate the charts, with 11 and 5 songs each, respectively.
