The iHeartRadio Music Awards are underway now, and the show began with a couple of major awards, as Adele's "Hello" took home Song of the Year and Taylor Swift then picked up the award for Female Artist of the Year. Yup, it's yet another Hollywood award show and watching will likely make most hip-hop fans scoff at all the quality projects that didn't make the list of nominees, but this particular event does pertain to music that's geared toward mainstream radio, so viewers will know what they're getting into.
Though, there's no forgiving the show for handing out the award for both Hip Hop Song of the Year and Hip Hop Artist of the Year before the ceremony, while categories like Dance Song of the Year got the live coverage. In any case, Drake's "Hotline Bling" was selected as the year's best hip-hop track, beating out "Blessings," "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)," "Trap Queen," and "Truffle Butter." Notice that Drake contributes to three of those five songs.
Fetty Wap, who's gotten about as much radio play as anyone over the past year, isn't just up for a couple of awards, including Best New Artist -- but he also brought out Monty on stage to perform "Again," to which T. Swift was seen singing all the words. Check back later to catch footage of his performance, as well as those to come, but for now, check out the full list of winners below, which will be updated throughout tonight's show.
