Straight Outta Compton set box office records last weekend, but its success is far from over. Variety reports that the acclaimed N.W.A. biopic is the highest grossing film of the week, putting it at the top of box office earnings once again.
Not only will Compton claim the top spot for two consecutive weeks, but it is also set to break the $100 million mark today (August 22nd).
While it has garnered its share of praise, the film has not been without its criticism. Earlier this week, Dee Barnes penned an open letter addressing the film's exclusion of her 1991 assault at the hands of Dr. Dre. Dre has since issued an apology, but the movie's director, F. Gary Gray, has yet to comment.
