While Azealia Banks currently works on her sophomore album Business And Pleasure, which she says is already half-way done, the Harlem emcee is also starting a new acting career as well.
According to Deadline, Azealia Banks will be playing the title character in the upcoming feature film "Coco", which is a Lionsgate film that’s being directed by RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan. Look for her to star alongside Common, Jill Scott, Lucien Laviscount, Lorraine Toussaint, and Hana Mae Lee.
The film is about an aspiring rapper from Brooklyn who wants a career in hip-hop, but her parents want her to finish college instead. Giving in, she ultimately reaches her goals in rap thanks to the power of spoken word throughout school. Described with having an "8-Mile" edge to it.
Production on "Coco" is about to get underway. We'll keep you posted once more information surfaces.
