Last week was kind of under-wheming on the new-music-I-enjoy front, but we have some promising releases in the very near future. See three jams below that deserve a listen.
Sir Michael Rocks- Can’t Hide Feat. Rockie Fresh
Sir Michael Rocks' released the second single off his upcoming street album Lap of Lux, which is dropping in two days. This follows up his first release, "Now You Do," and is extremely solid just like the first. I enjoy Mikey Rocks over these harder beats, reminiscent of one my favorite solo Rocks' tracks "Foreign Features." He linked up with MMG's Rockie Fresh, and Rockie's verse is little under-whelming, but Mikey makes it worth while.
Rapsody- Non-Fiction Feat. Raheem DeVaughn & Ab-Soul
Rapsody is a rapstress signed to producer's 9th Wonder label Jamla Records. On this 9th Wonder-produced cut she is joined by Raheem DeVaughn & 1/4 of Black Hippy, Ab-Soul. This is off her upcoming project, The Idea Of Beautiful, dropping at the end of August.
Chip Tha Ripper- Keep It So Real (Prod. by Cardo)
Haven't heard anything from Chip for a while, but word is he's going to be releasing some new stuff in the near future. For now we have this joint, off Mick Boogie & Hype Trak's mixtape Represent the Stripes. Over a typical Cardo beat, Chip spits about the usual ish.
