It’s been a long time in the making, but after months of heavy promotion, Faith Evans’ anticipated duet album with Notorious B.I.G titled The King And I has finally arrived two days before what would’ve been Biggie’s 45th birthday.
Laced with a whopping 25 records in total, the duet album tells the story about the life that Faith shared with Biggie: from getting married only nine days after meeting, to coping with his untimely death in 1997, Faith opens up on their story. As for the Biggie features, most of the verses are previously heard rhymes from the late Brooklyn rapper but a few happen to be never before vocals that were dig up from the vaults.
"I remember telling Ms. Wallace years ago that one day it would be really dope if I could do something similar to Natalie & Nat King Cole's Unforgettable," Evans said in a statement. "Knowing the love that B.I.G. had for [his kids] Tyanna & Ceejay, I feel it's my duty to uphold & extend his legacy, especially his musical contributions. This project is my creative reflection of the love we had & the bond we will always have. I'm elated to share this musical journey with our fans!”
Available on iTunes, fans can now stream the project in its entirety via Apple Music (below).
