It has been quite a while since we’ve heard updates Faith Evans’ planned posthumous duets album with Notorious B.I.G., but in a recent (and extensive) interview with Dame Dash on his radio show, she gives us quite a few updates about the project.
Most importantly, we get details that the album is schedule for release in 2016. Even sooner than that, she reveals that the first single from the album will release this summer. Evans also gives her impression of the album’s place in B.I.G.’s discography, saying “if he was alive, I know ultimately we would have done something like this. But the way this stuff is coming together and the way I‘m using his vocals, it’s giving this stuff new life. I think people are really going to enjoy it.”
These are exciting words from the late Christopher Wallace’s widow, who previously said that the album would include unreleased material from the Brooklyn emcee. You can see Faith Evans’ progress on it through her Instagram, as she has been uploading images with the the tags #TKAI, short for the album’s title The King and I.
Faith Evans comes in at the 23-minute mark in the interview below.
