Young Jeezy has been steady building his CTE roster, adding Freddie Gibbs to the team earlier this year, but Tuesday night (November 29) on Twitter DJ Folk revealed that he tried to get the Snowman to sign another rap rookie in addition. Folk originally tried to recruit Big K.R.I.T. as he envisioned the rapper/producer as CTE’s version of Kanye West.
“a little tidbit bout the krit and jeezy rap fix,” Folk wrote of the two artists, who will both appear on “RapFix Live” today at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. “krit almost signed with CTE as a producer back in 05-06 ..my vision was cte’s kanye.”
The deal didn’t work out, but Folk, who has hosted quite a few Jeezy mixtapes said that the move led him to becoming Jeezy’s A&R in 2007. “I been trying to get them together to work on some sh--,” he continued. “because snow f---s with krits sh--…he saw the vision back in the day.”
Today Jeezy will sit on the “RapFix Live” couch with Sway and discuss his long-awaited TM 103 album and its accompanying film, “Hustlerz Ambition.” K.R.I.T. will also make an appearance to update us on his major label debut Live From the Underground. Who knows, maybe “RapFix Live” can get the two to collaborate in the near future.
Catch Young Jeezy and Big K.R.I.T. on "RapFix Live" Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com, and be sure to join the Twitter conversation using the hashtag #RapFixLive. And send your questions for the Snowman and K.R.I.T. to MTV RapFix!
