N.W.A. learned in December that they would be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Friday morning, the Hall of Fame announced the special guests who would have the honor of inducting these artists at the official ceremony: "The Black Keys, Rob Thomas, Lars Ulrich of Metallica and more." According to Stereogum, among those in the "more" category is none other than Kendrick Lamar.
It makes sense -- none of the listed inductors is a natural fit to usher N.W.A., a gangster rap group, into the Hall. Kendrick, on the other hand, has inherited the Compton Torch of Black Excellence from N.W.A.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for April 8th at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. Tickets are available here.
