10. Fetty Wap - Jimmy Choo
It's been less than two months since Fetty Wap's debut self-titled album, which went No. 1, and he's already dropped a joint tape with French Montana and has another EP in the works. "Jimmy Choo," dedicated to the Malaysian fashion designer, would sound nicely on the upcoming release. It's softer than most of Fetty's radio anthems, as Zoovier channels the sound of his new life of luxury.
9. Ty Dolla $ign Feat. Wiz Khalifa - Sitting Pretty
TGOD's two leading men have a hit on their hands. Though it's not gonna blow up quite as fast as "Drop That Kitty" or "Blasé," for example -- it's a more minimal, delicate record -- meant for before and after the club, rather than the peak hours. Ty Dolla's hook is pure magic and Wiz drops a verse worthy of the expected quality of his labelmate's much-anticipated debut album.
8. Eminem - Devil's Night Intro (Acapella)
D12 returned just before Halloween with a new mixtape, Devil's Night, but they did so without Marshall Mathers. Luckily, they quickly "reloaded" the mixtape and gave Em a spot on the new intro. He goes full acapella, but for those wondering if Shady had lost any of his bite, here's 2 minutes of murderous bars.
7. Chris Brown - Sex You Back to Sleep
It's a little strange that Breezy will include such an explicitly-titled song on an album named after his daughter, but, alas, this is the type of track that he does best. Regardless of your opinion of Brown's extracurricular controversies, males and females alike gotta agree that "Sex You Back to Sleep" is a surefire baby-maker.
6. Ty Dolla $ign Feat. Kendrick Lamar, Brandy & James Fauntleroy - L.A.
What a year it's been for the City of Angels. If Ty Dolla wants his album to rank among the best L.A. projects this year -- he'll certainly be a contender -- he had to include a song dedicated to his hometown. And in doing so, he brought along Kendrick Lamar, James Fauntleroy, who helped make TPAB so great, and, perhaps the biggest surprise, beautiful backing vocals from Brandy.
Though Ty is a leader of the new-school, "L.A" proves he's as West Coast as they come.
5. Fetty Wap - In My Ways
Thus far, fans have taken to "In My Ways" much quicker than to the above "Jimmy Choo." And it's easy to see why, as the track, which would also go well on Fetty's forthcoming EP, is just as catchy as some of his biggest hits. Yes, he reuses some of the same sounds and flows, but there's something a little different about each of his songs, and no one else has been able to replicate his formula.
And as he's stuck in his ways, the hits are gonna keep coming.
4. Young Thug Feat. Rich Homie Quan - Never Made Love (Prod. by London on da Track)
This year's Halloween was rocked by Thugger Thugger's Slime Season 2. One of the tape's many standouts was a Rich Gang collab featuring the original three that blessed us with Tha Tour: Part 1: Thug, Quan, and the indispensable London on da Track. Though "Never Made Love" is likely months old, the mastered SS2 version is right up there with the best Rich Gang tracks, and it's a reminder of what could have been, and, maybe just maybe, what still could be.
3. LA Leakers Feat. Future, Wiz Khalifa & Kid Ink - Ball Like This
The LA Leakers threw three big stars together on "Ball Like This," but the collab is noteworthy not just for the names on the track. It's a straight banger that further showcases the celestial zone in which Future currently finds himself, and we get hard verses from Wiz and Ink. Another highlight is the production contributions from experimental club producer Salva, who we profiled for BTB earlier this year.
2. Justin Bieber Feat. Skrillex - I'll Show You
That's right. Bieber went No. 2 on HotNewHipHop. It even spent a lil' time at No. 1. Whether you're on board or not, the sound of Bieber's upcoming album, Purpose, will without a doubt seep into the hip-hop world shortly after its release -- especially as the album features Nas, Travi$ Scott, and Big Sean. Any track with Skrillex, though (5 in total), is worth checking out too.
1. Jeremih Feat. Future & Big Sean - Royalty
Though he's tortured us with the endless delay of his third studio album, Late Nights, Jeremih isn't going anywhere. We haven't got a release date, but Thumpy Johnson has had a prolific year, and "Royalty," featuring an unstoppable lineup, is one of his best. There's always been a little something sinister to Jeremih's after-midnight drops, and bringing along the dark prince of trap, "Royalty" is dangerously intoxicating.
