There's no shortage of rappers that are trying to wedge themselves into the world of dance music. Waka Flocka has made tracks with Steve Aoki. A$AP Rocky and Skrillex linked for "Wild For The Night." DJ Snake and Lil Jon had the whole world screaming "Turn Down For What" not too long ago. The list goes on and on, but most of the time the results are somewhat corny.
Goldlink is the exception. Having toured with the likes of SBTRKT and collaborated with Kaytranada, Chet Faker, and Sango, he's keeping his bridge as tasteful as possible. The result is a bouncy, danceable style of rap music that we haven't seen too much in the music's short lifetime. While Goldlink makes a name for himself with energetic concerts and dope tracks, we've decided to outline his essential tracks for our readers.
Item #1
Goldlink - Bedtime Story
"Bedtime Story" is a solid example of Goldlink's style. Bouncy rap with production that takes cues from modern dance music is obviously the recipe for success.
Sango x Goldlink - Wassup
The subject links up with Soulection's Sango for a beautiful hip hop track. "The Sound of Tomorrow," indeed.
Goldlink - Sober Thoughts [Prod. Kaytranda]
Relationships can get messy. "Sober Thoughts," the head-boppin' tune from Goldlink and Kaytranada, details a little bit of that world for the listener.
Chet Faker x Goldlink - On You
Aussie crooner Chet Faker is a great choice for a collaboration with Goldlink. The two are pushing their respective styles of music forward with futuristic stylings, and "On You" is an essential listen.
Bipolar Sunshine featuring Goldlink - Future (Part 1)
Here's some more of that funky, dance vibe that has made Goldlink a rising star in today's scene.
ZHU featuring Goldlink - Paradise Awaits (Part 2)
The enigmatic EDM producer ZHU employed Goldlink to spit some bars and sing some words over this catchy single.
Goldlink - Dance On Me
Goldlink's newest track is "Dance On Me," a bouncy joint that was just released a couple weeks ago.
Goldlink - When I Die
Most of Goldlink's tracks don't fit the modern trap mold. This one is no different, but it might trick you at first!
Goldlink - Ay Ay
What is hip hop without an R-rated video? Goldlink invites a couple of well-endowed women to bounce around in the "Ay Ay" visual.
Goldlink - Creep
He's a newer artist, but he's still been doing his thing for a minute. Before he landed on the bounce style, he was kickin' rhymes over golden era instrumentals as seen on "Creep."
