Colin Kaepernick's message is resonating louder than ever right now.

People around the world have been demanding justice for George Floyd who was murdered by police in Minnesota this past week. In a viral video posted to social media, Floyd can be seen on the ground with his neck being pressed down on by the knee of an officer. Despite his cries for help, the officer continued to apply pressure until Floyd eventually passed away. This egregious act of police brutality has led to large protests and riots around the city and some are calling for it to stop, while others are encouraging the fight for justice.

Colin Kaepernick has been fighting against injustice and inequality for years now and today, he took to social media where he gave his perspective on the protests. As he explains, peaceful protest has not worked in the past and that now, it is time for a revolution that brings real change to the country.

"When civility leads to death, revolting is the only logical reaction," Kap wrote. "The cries for peace will rain down, and when they do, they will land on deaf ears, because your violence has brought this resistance."

Police brutality is one of the most pressing issues in the United States right now and hopefully, these protests will make politicians realize something needs to change. The police are taking too many lives and these videos of people of color dying before our eyes are becoming all too common.
