On Monday, Apple CEO Tim Cook unveiled the latest version of its iPhone software, iOS 14, as well as the next generation of Apple products at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference special event keynote.
The annual developer’s event was hosted virtually this year in light of the coronavirus pandemic, although it usually takes place at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. The new iPhone software, which is slated to launch in the fall, will be a major design switch for the device. It features major changes to the aesthetic of the home screen and a new voice and text translation app.
The company also announced updates to AirPods to allow more seamless transitions between devices.
Here is a full list of everything new that iOS 14 will have to offer:
- A redesigned home screen that includes a new feature called "App Library" that automatically organizes your apps and picture-in-picture video to allow users to watch videos or FaceTime while using other apps
- Change to Siri's design so it no longer takes up the full screen when activated
- A new app called Translate for live conversation translation that will also work offline
