The murders of Oluwatoyin "Toyin" Salau and Breonna Taylor have relaunched "Protect Black Women" campaigns online. People have shared harrowing tales of Black women who have lost their lives, have been violated, or have been mistreated, and while it has gained some traction on social media, Summer Walker has called out those who say one thing and do another.
The singer supports the movement, but she has taken to her Instagram to share screenshots of tweets that seem to be directed to men. "Y'all screaming 'Protect Black Women' and still kikiking with your homeboy who posted his girl nudes, still chilling with another homeboy accused of rape, kicking it with homie who degrades women at every chance he gets. Get the entire FUCK out of here," one post from Summer Walker reads.
Another post states, "Protect all black women. Not just the ones you're attracted to you." She didn't caption either photo and hasn't spoken on what prompted her to shared the screenshots of the tweets, but both brought in hundreds of thousands of responses from the public. Check them out below.
