Lecrae has been trending all morning after a conversation he had with Louie Giglio and Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy went viral. Described as an "honest conversation about race on the church," he was targeted after Giglio not only tried to downplay the concept of White Privilege but the long-term effects of slavery, calling it a "white blessing." Lecrae's submissive response, however, became far more controversial than the initial comments themselves.
Taking to Twitter, he addressed the recent controversy in an video he shared to social media. "First of all, I want you to know I wasn't okay with it. Even as I sat there, I was very uncomfortable and I was processing on, like, 'how do I -- what do I say in light of this?' It's been a lot of times where as I've navigated white supremacy or racial injustice where I been trying to figure out where I wanted to lash out, honestly," he said.
"I ended up having a conversation with him subsequently. You know, right after we talked and then I talked to again last night and let him know my views and my perspectives. Obviously, I wasn't okay with it," he continued.
Shortly after posting the video, Killer Mike slid in the comments with a positive note. "Stay encouraged! Love, Bruv!"
