Remy Ma knows enough about the legal system to not speak recklessly about law-related issues she may be facing. The rapper was released from prison back in 2014 following a conviction stemming from a case that involved a shooting at a New York deli. Since that time, Remy has kept her nose clean, has been working in the studio, and recently gave birth to a baby girl after sharing heartbreaking infertility issues.
Because she's known as the peacemaker who tries to end quarrels between her Love & Hip Hop New York castmates, it came as a surprise when her co-star Brittney Taylor accused the rapper of assault. Taylor shared a photo of her black eye on Instagram and told followers that Remy punched her in the face, and when Taylor's lawyer made an appearance on social media to support his client, people knew that things were getting serious.
Keeping her story in the limelight, Taylor later sat down with New York Daily News in her lawyer's office and detailed what happened between herself and Remy. She insinuated that she was sucker-punched by the rapper at Fat Joe's benefit concert over a Spring Break incident involving Remy's step-daughter. Meanwhile, Remy has kept her mouth shut, which isn't surprising considering she's still on probation until August of this year.
