Edelman has spent his entire career in New England.

Julian Edelman might not have the best regular season stats, but there is no denying just how effective the New England Patriots wide receiver is when it comes to the playoffs. Over his 10-year career with the Patriots, Edelman has won three Super Bowls and has been a huge reason why they continue to be a great dynasty. Edelman was Brady's favorite target during the Super Bowl this year which helped him win Super Bowl MVP honors. It's these types of performances that have put Edelman in great favor with the Patriots franchise.

Edelman's loyalty to the team was rewarded today when it was reported that the two sides agreed on a two-year, $18 million contract extension that will keep Edelman with the team until 2021. As mentioned by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, there was an $8 million signing bonus while $12 million was guaranteed. Meanwhile, the final year of the deal will have $2.8 million in guaranteed money.

If you remember, Edelman missed the first four games of this season after he got caught using performance-enhancing drugs. Since then, Edelman has paid his debts and bounced back with an incredible 2018 campaign.

With Edelman back on the roster, the Patriots will certainly be one of the best teams in the AFC this season.
