Charles Barkley says, and does, a lot of silly things while he's on the set of Inside The NBA with his co-hosts Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O'Neal. Whether it's his never-ending feud with the women of San Antonio, his frequent back-and-forths with Shaq, or his NBA Finals predictions, Chuck always finds a way to keep the viewers entertained.
With all of the laughs we get out of Barkley's banter, it's also worth noting when he does something genuinely meaningful - like donate $45,000 to a worthy cause. Following Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals over the weekend, Milwaukee Bucks guard Malcolm Brogdon joined Barkley and co., where he was asked about his Hoops2O charity, which "recruits players from across the NBA to raise funds and awareness for clean water initiatives in East Africa."
Says Brogdon (H/T Yahoo Sports):
“We basically build clean water wells in East Africa and Tanzania.
Every summer I go over there. I raise money throughout the season. I have four guys in the NBA that are helping me raise money on different teams. I’m trying to just raise as much money as I can to build more wells, and then I go visit the people in Africa and see sort of the impact that it has.”
After learning of Brogdon's clean water initiative, Sir Charles pledged $45,000 - the price of a well. Check out the footage below.
