The run between Mac Miller and Rostrum Records has come to an end. The Pittsburgh MC has decided to move on from the independent label after a four-year run according to MTV News.
Mac Miller first signed to Rostrum right before the release of his critically acclaimed mixtape K.I.D.S. and continued to soar up the hip-hop charts from there. During his time at Rostrum, Mac released his debut album Blue Slide Park and most recently Watching Movies With The Sound Off. MTV reported that their split comes after the original contract, which was signed in 2010, had expired recently. Both parties left on good terms however, as Mac and Rostrum had this to say about each other,
“Rostrum is my family. That is forever. No matter what, we will always work together. We moved mountains and I can only see them continuing that tradition. I am grateful for everything I learned and am always here for whatever.” -Mac
“Mac is an incredible artist and has a bright career ahead of him, We wish him nothing but the best in the future.” -Rostrum Records
Now the questions remains on where Mac will be heading to next? We’ll keep you posted on further information.
