Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Michael Beasley is reportedly finalizing a deal with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the deal is for "significant cash" over the next two months.

Beasley, who appeared in just 26 games for the Lakers this season, was traded to the Clippers at the NBA trade deadline, along with center Ivica Zubac, in exchange for Mike Muscala. The 30-year old forward was waived two days after being acquired by the Clips.

After signing with the Lakers as a free agent in July, Beasley averaged just 7 points and 2.3 rebounds in a career-low 10.7 minutes per game this season. He only appeared in 10 of the team's first 38 games while taking care of his mother, who passed away in December.

Beasley, a former #2 overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, spent two seasons in the Chinese Basketball Association between 2014 and 2016. He returned to the NBA in March 2016 and has bounced around the league since then, including stints with the Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks.

ESPN's Ian Begley reports that in 2017 Beasley had a multi-year offer worth more than $10 million from a Chinese Basketball Association team, but he opted to sign with the Knicks instead.
