Kyrie Irving's shooting woes continued in Game 4 on Monday night, as the All Star point guard followed up his 8-22 shooting performance in Game 3 by going 7-22 from the field during the team's 113-101 loss. In his last three games, Irving is now 19-62 (30.7%).
When asked about his struggles during this series against the Milwaukee Bucks, Irving told reporters:
"Who cares?" He continued, "I'm a basketball player. Prepare the right way. Like I said, it's a little different when your rhythm is challenged every play down. You're being picked up full court. They're doing things to test you.
"The expectations on me are going to be sky-high. I try to utilize their aggression against them and still put my teammates in great position while still being aggressive. I'm trying to do it all.
"For me, the 22 shots? I should have shot 30. I'm that great of a shooter."
Kyrie finished with a team-high 23 points to go along with 10 assists and six rebounds, but the team shot just 37.8% from the field. Meanwhile, Boston has had no answer for Giannis Antetokounmpo. The MVP candidate poured in a game-high 39 points in Game 4, in addition to grabbing 16 rebounds and dishing out four assists.
The Bucks now hold a commanding 3-1 series lead as the teams head back to Milwaukee for Game 5. That game, airing on TNT, is scheduled to tipoff at 8pm ET on Wednesday night.
