Todd Gurley and the Los Angeles Rams know they got away with one last night, and they don't seem to mind one bit.
In fact, the Rams' All-Pro running back even gloated about their controversial victory on instagram following the team's 26-23 triumph in New Orleans. As seen below, Gurley posted a photoshopped image in which he is swapping his #30 jersey for some referee stripes.
Gurley's timely post, which is far and away one of his most-liked photos, came shortly after the NFL admitted to missing multiple calls on a third-and-10 play from the Rams' 13-yard line, with the score tied 20-20.
Saints wide receiver Tommylee Lewis was crushed by Rams defensive back Nickell Robey-Coleman, but the refs failed to throw a flag for pass interference or the helmet-to-helmet hit.
As a result of the no-call, the Saints were forced to kick a field goal which gave the Rams plenty of time to march down the field and kick a game-tying field goal. Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein connected on a 57-yarder in overtime to send Los Angeles to the Super Bowl, while Saints fans went home wondering what in the hell just happened.
The league later admitted to Saints head coach Sean Payton, 'We messed it up.'
Robey-Coleman also told Sports Illustrated's Robert Klemko: "Yes, I got there too early. I was beat, and I was trying to save the touchdown."
