With the Met Gala taking place today, the biggest names in fashion, film, music, and art will come together to celebrate this years theme: "Camp: Notes On Fashion".
Among the famous faces set to attend the event, Taraji P. Henson had planned on showing up with designer Vera Wang. Sources say that "they had an epic look planned" for the Empire star.

However, plans to attend were put to a halt following the sudden death of Henson's long time friend, and director John Singleton's death, after suffering a stroke. The star credits him for giving her her "first big break" by casting her in his 2001 film, Baby Boy, and then again in his 2005 Hustle And Flow, and backs out of Met Gala plans to attend the intimate service being held for his passing.
"My heart is broken!!! I am at a loss for words. Can’t stop crying." the actress says in a heartfelt caption she posts with a picture of the pair, following the news of Singleton's passing.
Wang reportedly gave Henson her "full support and blessing" on her decision to opt out, and will instead be working with another guest to the event. Fashion fanatics rejoice though, as we will allegedly still be seeing Henson's Met Gala dress at some point on a future Red Carpet.
