The stories of Westeros will stretch far beyond "Game Of Thrones."

At this point, A Song Of Ice And Fire author George R. R. Martin may as well have a parking lot on his front lawn, reserved exclusively for the frequent dump-trucks full of money. As Game Of Thrones approaches an end to its final season, many fans have been left wondering what might become of their ongoing Sunday night ritual. As it happens, a Game Of Thrones successor series has already been confirmed to be in development, though original reports found HBO fielding five potential options for another Westerosi tale.

Though reports began to surface signaling the termination of several possible GOT series, George R.R. Martin himself came through to clear the air. As he tells it, HBO still intends to move forward with several of the proposed possibilities.  “Speaking of television, don’t believe everything you read. Internet reports are notoriously unreliable,” he writes, via his official Not A Blog website. “We have had five different GAME OF THRONES successor shows in development (I dislike the term “spinoffs”) at HBO, and three of them are still moving forward nicely.”

In true George fashion, the writer offered up a few teases about what we might come to expect. "The one I am not supposed to call THE LONG NIGHT will be shooting later this year, and two other shows remain in the script stage, but are edging closer," he writes. "What are they about? I cannot say. But maybe some of you should pick up a copy of FIRE & BLOOD and come up with your own theories.”
