There are so many parallel lines coming to light between YNW Melly's case and Boosie Badazz' criminal history. Years ago, Boosie was facing the death penalty before he got out of his first-degree murder charges. Today, Melly is facing the death penalty for allegedly murdering his two close friends. What makes things even more interesting is the fact that YNW Melly, whose real name is Jamell Demons, hired the lawyer that helped Boosie come off scot-free. Yesterday was the young Florida rapper's birthday and many joined the #FreeMelly movement, wishing him a good day behind bars. Future was one of the artists who wished him well while Boosie also spoke out, remembering when they first met.
Wishing Melly a happy G day, Boosie recalled the first time the young rapper approached him in the airport. "MET THIS LIL G N THE AIRPORT N HE SHOWED MAD RESPECT TO ME," said the Baton Rouge legend in all caps. "HE BROUGHT MY FOOD MAGAZINES ETC. N***A SAID 'OG I GOT YOU N***A ON EVERYTHING U AINT SPENDIN SHIT' #freemelly."
The comments section is filled with people unsure of how to react. Many are questioning Boosie's decision to support the rapper after all the evidence appears to make it clear that he killed his friends. Others are joining him on the #FreeMelly train but there seems to be an overwhelming amount of people that are no longer down with the "Murder On My Mind" singer. Where do you stand?
