A few days before he was arrested for allegedly murdering his two friends YNW Juvy and YNW Sakchaser, YNW Melly stopped by the HNHH Headquarters to chat about his career. The young Florida rapper had been rising steadily until he was nabbed by the police, achieving success with his singles "Murder on my Mind" and "Mixed Personalities" with Kanye West. He looked set to become the next star out of the Sunshine State but unfortunately, things have taken a dark twist in his life. He's fighting to get out of this predicament and he's sticking with his story but things aren't looking too bright.
When speaking on his influences, he noted that Gucci Mane played a big part in his decision to start rapping. After he got out of prison the first time, he was influenced to pick up the microphone, first hitting it big with "Murder." He wrote the song in jail and, according to him, the entire facility was feeling the track before he even recorded it. Even the staff.
Many hip-hop fans were surprised to see Kanye West's name on the tracklist to We All Shine. Melly says that he linked up with the Chicago legend after getting flown out to the studio. "The chemistry was lit," says Melly. "He heard my music and he fell in love with it. I fuck with bruh. I understand him. Kanye's still a GOAT."
